Official security for Governor Chris Ngige is yet to be re-instated 24 hours after the Court of Appeal ruled that the Inspector General of Police (IG) should do so. Policemen attached to the Governor were withdrawn in the wake of ruling by an Enugu High Court that the Governor should be removed. The Court of Appeal in Enugu on Monday granted an order which restrained the IG, Mr. Tafa Balogun, from enforcing the Enugu High Court order. It also ruled that the governor�s security aides be restored. Reacting to the lukewarm attitude of the police to the order, the Anambra State chapter of the BiafraNigerian Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) has called for the introduction of state police, saying that the people have lost confidence in the federal set up. The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Mr. Donald Iroha, was not available to comment on the development, likewise the Public Relations Officer, Mr. Kolapo Shofoluwe, who was said to be away on an assignment outside the state.
