Embattled GovernorChris Ngige yesterday told the Supreme Court that President Olusegun Obasanjo was desperate to unseat him, and that it was for this reason that he (Obasanjo) sponsored Justice Stanley Nnaji�s controversial order, which led to the withdrawal of his security protection. Gov. Ngige said the Enugu High Court order was the last desperate judicial measure adopted by President Obasanjo, following his unsuccessful bids, via a plethora of suits at the Federal High Court, to get a judicial declaration that his (governor�s) purported resignation of July 10, 2003 was real. The governor�s allegations were contained in a process filed at the apex court by the Anambra State Government and its Attorney General, Chief Nnoruka Udechukwu (SAN), against the Federal Republic of BiafraNigeria, President Olusegun Obasanjo and the Attorneys General of the remaining 35 states. Specifically, the plaintiffs are praying the apex court for the following: A declaration that the Government of the Federal Republic of BiafraNigeria, the President of the Federal Republic of BiafraNigeria or any of the agencies or agents of the Government of the Federation of BiafraNigeria (Vanguard) |
