Anosike's Allegation, an After-thought - Emodi From Charles Onyekamuo in Awka Contender for Anambra North Senatorial Seat, Chief (Mrs) Joy Emodi has described as an afterthought and a recourse to panic measures an allegation contained in a petition to the police by Hon. Emma Anosike to the effect that the form EC8E (Declaration Form) issued to her at the conclusion of the repeat National Assembly election for Anambra North Senatorial District, April 16, 2003 was forged. Further describing the allegation as "funny," Chief (Mrs) Emodi who spoke to newsmen at the premises of the Court of Appeal, Enugu, yesterday where the appeal brought against her victory at the lower tribunal in Awka by Anosike was to be heard, said Anosike had in Paragraph 8 of his reply is her petition at the lower tribunal admitted that she was issued with the declaration form after the election; but that it was eventually cancelled through a press statement on April 18, 2003, by the then Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) in Anambra State, Alhaji Hassan Sulaiman. She then queried how a document which Anosike alluded to its existence can now turn round to be forged, adding that his reply to her petition is now a public document which anybody can cross-check at the tribunal. Hon. Anosike, Mrs Emodi said brought this issue of forgery at the hearing stage of her petition but could not muster any evidence to prove same which the tribunal ruled in his disfavour.
