KWSG Pays $40,000 for World Bank Health Project From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin Kwara State government has paid the sum of $40,000 as initial counterpart fund for participating states in the World Bank Health System Development Project. This is part of the effort to consolidate its health care delivery services. Governor Bukola Saraki in a message to the 10th joint graduation ceremony of the Schools of Nursing and Midwifery noted that the health system project was aimed at improving health care services in the state. Represented by Deputy Governor Joel Afolabi Ogundeji, Saraki affirmed the resolve of his administrations to redress the dearth of qualified health personnel in health institutions in the state. Towards the project, Saraki hinted that government recently employed 300 medical and allied personnel including Specialist Consultant, Medical Officers, House Officers, Pharmacists, Nurses and Attendants. "We have equally approved Medical Salary Scale (MSS) for medical personnel to boost their morale and enhance their efficiency and productivity," the governor said. He noted that since inception, the two schools have turned out competent, reliable and dedicated personnel that have excelled in various fields of endeavors. "I want to assure the authorities of the two Schools that this administration will continue to aid of them within the limit of available resources in order for their enhance the scope of their existing facilities."
