Leave Ogunlewe Alone, PDP Tells Tinubu By Sheriff Balogun Following the alleged false statement attributed to Governor Bola Tinubu of Lagos State, Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic party (PDP) has described the allegation levied against the Minister of Works, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe by Tinubu as a blackmail. A statement signed by the party's publicity secretary, Mr. Muyiwa Collins stated that "Tinubu had, in a statement, called on the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC)to investigate on how the works minister gets the money to pay this alleged 17 Special Assis-tants." The release maintained that "the action of Minister of Works, Senator Ogun-lewe being contested by Tinubu is not only utter blackmail, but also an expression of Tinubu's envy of good and laudable works Ogunlewe has been doing since his assumption of office." It added that "we want to affirm to the best of our knowledge that all the Special Assistants to Ogunlewe are not collecting salary as alleged by Tinubu." Collins in the statement, said "neither the PDP nor Ogunlewe will however join issue with Tinubu by way of recrimination as we consider his allegation as gaseous talk and an attempt to create unnecessary distraction for our hardworking Minister of Works. The release also asked Tinubu should make effort to investigate and confirm first, the actual number of Special Assistants appointed by Ogunlewe before coming out with any allegation.
