Kwara United Defeat Enyimba
Coca-Cola FA Cup

Rescheduled Coca-Cola Football Association (Challenge) Cup match between the African Champions League defending champions, Enyimba FC of Aba and Kwara United of Ilorin inside the Onikan stadium in Lagos yesterday produced frills and thrills and had to wait until the extra time before the Ilorin team smuggled in a shot with two minutes to full time to win the match.
Petite Kazeem Ahmed was the second half joker of coach Jokar Wreachar attack option. Spotting jersey number 10, he terrorised the Elephants of Aba defence so much that he provided the cross to Victor Obinna Nsofor's shot from outside the 18 yards box that beat goalkeeper Dele Aiyenugba.
LG Cup revelation, Emeka Akwueme and Daniel Njoku were the centre of attraction of foreign scouts who trailed them to the venue to see the players in action. About three scouts were in the stadium making enquiries about the players who have struck the headlines by their spectacular performances.
The match which started at 3:00pm with a scanty crowd lived up to the billing as both teams had to employ several tactics to beat the other. Kwara United's goalkeeper Bassey Akpan was the biggest stumbling block of the Aba team helped by Nojim Raji's patience in the heart of defence.
Speaking at the end of the match, Enyimba's coach Okey Emordi said, "It was a very good match. Both teams lived up to expectation. It was so balanced that any side could have won. I wish Kwara United well in the championship."
His counterpart, Liberian born Jokar Wreachar said: "the match was not only tactical. Fans had a good fill and worth of their money. I am satisfied with the two sides as victory would have gone to either side. It was a match no one can say what the outcome could have been. We are looking forward to tackle our next opponent as we are taking each match as it comes."
By the fixture, Kwara United are now scheduled to play Bendel Insurance of Benin. This was the reason why coach Godwin Uwua came on a spy mission to have a feel of his team's next ooponnent. It would be recalled that Uwua led the defending champions, Lobi Stars of Makurdi to the championship victory last season.
