Enterprise Data Management, Web Content Delivery Seminar Holds
The Business Data Protection and Recovery Limited (BDPR), a leading IT firm which specialises in providing solutions and services to enterprises in the country, in conjunction with Network Appliance Inc., will this week host a seminar on Web Content Delivery For Enterprises And ISPs and Enterprise Data Management and Disaster Recovery. The seminar is scheduled to hold between Thursday and Friday at Muson Centre, Lagos.
Mr. G.O Ajayi, managing director of BDPR, said the seminar on Enterprise Data Management will address issues like high performance data replication over any distance over any network, 24x7 Data Availability, instantaneous Data Backup/ Restore (Backup/Restore of2TB Database in few seconds), data Consolidation (Windows and Unix) and Data Sharing (Multi-protocol Data Sharing).

Some of the features, he said include reliability,, high performance and total cost of ownership.
He said the NetApp NearStore is nearline storage delivering fast data access between primary storage and tape or optical libraries. Data from many types of primary storage can be backed up or archived online to Nearstore across local and wide area networks. Every enterprise needs to protect business-critical data. Back up directly to tape from primary storage is the conventional approach. A principal problem with this method is that it must be confined to off- peak hours because it impacts the performance of primary online storage. Accelerating data growth and shrinking time windows for tape backup aggravate this problem. Recovering data from tape presents another critical issue: it can be arduous and lime-consuming; all while applications and business are offline. He said the NetApp NetCache family of products is a scalable suite of appliances designed to solve complex Web content.
