Enyimba, Nationale crash out of Coca-Cola FA Cup

Two of the big
Oriental torch-bearers in this year’s Coca-Cola FA Cup, Enyimba of Aba
and Iwuanyanwu Nationale yesterday bade farewell to the championship to record
some of the shock defeats that
have attended FA cup globally in the past.
At the Onikan
waterfront in Lagos, Kwara United of Ilorin bundled Enyimba of Aba out in a
classical fashion before a half-capacity filled arena.
In a highly tensed
match Obinna Nsofor scored in the 116th minute to take Kwara United into the
next stage of the competition. The game however failed to live up to
expectations as the two teams did not play like Premier League sides.
Though few players
really played their hearts out,
Obinna Nsofor,
Nojim Ahmed and Kazeem Ahmed of Kwara United and Damain Udeh, Omolade Ajibade
and Muri Ibrahim of Enyimba showed that they have business on the pitch.
Coach Okey Emordi
of Enyimba refused to speak to the press after the game while his Kwara United
counterparts, Jokar Wreacher said they are gradually finding their rhythm.
Kwara United will
square up against Insurance of Benin next Wednesday. Rangers of Enugu also
qualified for the next round after beating Wikki Tourists of Bauchi through
penalties 7-6.
In Calabar,
defending FA Cup champions, Lobi Stars pounded League leaders, Iwuanyanwu
Nationale 2-0 in a game dominated by the champions.
