Saraki Repositions Kwara for Devt
A three-year strategic plan is in the offing in Kwara State where Governor Bukola Saraki, has directed all political appointees to seek inputs from the people.
The go-back-to-base order will enable government to evolve a framework to meet the yearnings and aspirations of the people across the state.
The State Commissioner for Information and Home Affairs, Alhaji Abdulraheem Adedoyin, while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the State Executive Council meeting weekend said the council decided that a long term strategic plan would be adopted for the state in its bid to ensure even development both in the rural and urban areas of the state.
Adedoyin said the Governor has directed all the Commissioners and Special Advisers to visit the grassroots and get inputs for a truly people-oriented plan.
He said the visit, which is expected to commence this week, was aimed at increasing the participation of government at the grassroots, adding that government had consulted with various interest and community groups.
Adedoyin said the delay in composing Transition Implementation Committees was due to the current sanitization exercise going on in the local councils.
Also speaking at the briefing, the commissioner for Water Resources, Dr. Abraham Ashaolu, said the state governor received a letter from President Olusegun Obasanjo commending him on his achievement in the last 100 days especially in the areas of road, water, environmental sanitation and health.
On the problem of water confronting the people of Bode Saadu, the Commissioner assured that the area would from this week begin to enjoy adequate water supply.
