FG, Duke Oppose Court Service to Taylor From Lillian Okenwa in Abuja Federal Government and Cross River State governor, Donald Duke yesterday opposed the directive of a Federal High Court, Abuja to extend the service of court processes to former Liberian President, Mr. Charles Taylor currently on asylum in Nigeria. Two Nigerians who claimed they are victims of Taylor's brutality while in office had filled an application in court to extradite Taylor to Sierra Leone to answer charges of genocide. At the resumed hearing of the action, counsel to the Federal Government, Mr. Bola Odugbesan told the court that it was wrong to order the National Commission for Refugees, a government agency to serve Taylor the court process without first giving the agency the opportunity to tell the court whether it was in a position or not to serve the papers. Odugbesan averred that the order directing the commission to serve Taylor was made in violation of the commission's right to fair hearing.
