Orthopaedics Update Skills on Knee Surgery Orthopaedic Surgeons in Nigeria have been trained on arthroscopy procedure in surgery, the treatment of knee injuries intended to make them current on the management of the cases. The minimal invasive surgery which involves the use of modern technology to diagnose and manage knee injuries is expected to reduce the number of days a patient stays in the hospital as well as quicken treatment. Two German orthopaedic surgeons, Dr Andreas Weiler and Dr Arno Schmeling on Tuesday in Ibadan, Oyo State commenced a four-day training of Nigerian orthopaedics on the delicate art of arthroscopy which will significantly reduce the frequency with which Nigerians go abroad for the treatment of knee injuries. Organized by STORZ, a German company which deals on medical equipment in association with the Nigerian Orthopaedic Association, (NOA), the course was attended by eminent orthopaedics including the immediate past president of NOA, Dr O.
