NDLEA Arrests 94 over Drugs Taraba From Takuruku Promise in Jalingo Taraba State Command of National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (ND-LE) has arrested 94 suspects and convicted 10 persons while 12 accused persons are awaiting trial for various drug offences. Besides, the command has seized 84.20 kilogrammes of drugs, counseled and rehabilitated about 72 persons while 4 persons are presently undergoing de-toxification. The state Commander of NDLEA, Mr. Hatsiru Bwala, stated this this recently in Jalingo during the occasion marking the United Nations Drug Against Drug Abuse and Trafficking. Bwala said the celebration was expected to sensitise the general populace on the dangers inherent in illicit drug trafficking and abuse and encourage them to live a healthy lifestyles devoid of drugs abuse. He explained that drug abuse affects the spread of HIV/AIDS because it enhances risky behaviour such as seeking sexual gratification without due protection through injection of hard drugs using unsterilised needles. The commander said that NDLE in the state was poised now more than ever to rid the state of crime of drug abuse but is lackingvehicles to penetrate the topographic areas o the state to do its,job well and called on the state government to aid the command.
