Monitoring Team Warns Marketers Akwa Ibom From Efem Nkanga in Uyo Petroleum Products Monitoring Team (PPMT) in Akwa Ibom State has warned fuel marketers in the state against selling above the state government's approved price of N45 per litre for fuel. This warning was contained in a signed by the chairman of the team, Chief Antigha Eyo Bassey. Bassey called on the marketers to revert back to the pre-Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC) strike of N45 per litre for fuel and N42 per litre for diesel and kerosene, N50 per litre. He stated that before the nationwide strike action ermbarked upon by NLC the team had succeeded in curtailing the overpricing tendencies of the marketers by ensuring that fuel was made available in the state. He decried the fact that weeks after NLC had called off the strike, marketers were still capitalising on the strike to sell above approved prices. Bassey, who is the Special Adviser to State Governor on Project Monitoring and Evaluation, warned marketers in the state against the illegal adjustment of their meters, which some of them indulged in to defraud the masses.
