Olofinjana,Ogbeche Join Eagles
  • Nwosu tasks Nigeria against Algeria
    By Wale Ajimotokan

The arrival of Seyi Olofinjana and Batholomew Ogbeche has brought the number of players in the Super Eagles camp for tomorrows World Cup qualifier against Algeria to 22 even as former Nigerian captain Henry Nwosu asked the Eagles to go for broke against the Desert Warriors.

Olofinjana and Ogbeche, according to the spokesman of the Nigeria Football Association (NFA), Samuel Kaalu arrived on Wednesday and participated in yesterdays training sessions.

"The coaches now have a full set of players in camp to make use of for Saturdays World Cup qualifier. We are hoping that the this renewed optimism on the part of the players will translate into result against Algeria.Kaalu said

With unlimited passion looming in the horizon for the crucial Group 4 tie against the Desert Warriors Imo State FA Chairman Nwosu in a phone conversation with THISDAYSports from Owerri warned the Eagles that after the setback against Angola in Luanda Nigeria could not afford to miss the World Cup party in 2006.

Nwosu a veteran of several confrontations with the north Africans in the past tasked the Eagles to play as a team in the all important encounter.

The former Akwa United chief coach discribed Algeria as a tough customer which Nigeria could not afford to underrate

"Even though our preparation was shoddy before we left for Luanda our midfield let us down against Angola. We can only forge ahead if we field our best players while the players must learn to play as a team. We can only qualify for Germany 2006 if there is a change of attitude on
