By Alex Oni
correspondent, Lagos
The General T.Y. Danjuma (rtd)-led board of directors
of Pan Ocean Oil Corporation on Thursday asked a Federal High Court, sitting in
Lagos to dismiss a suit over the ownership of 2,000 ordinary shares of the
company.
In a statement of defence filed on behalf of the
eight defendants in the suit by lawyers from the law firm of Ajumogobia &
Okeke, the defendants maintained that the third and fourth defendants on the
newly constituted board are directors of the company while the first and second
defendants are the beneficial owners of all the shares in the plaintiff
company.
Pan Ocean Oil Corporation, plaintiff in the suit, had
through its lawyer, Chief Afe Babalola (SAN), taken eight of its directors and
Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), before Justice Rebecca Oyindamola
Olomojobi, asking among other things that the first and second defendants are
neither shareholders nor directors of the company and an order of perpetual
injuction to restrain the defendants from interfering with the affairs and
management of the plaintiff.
Named as defendants in the suit are Aunabella
Timolini, Patrizio Di Gveara Fabbri, Interocean oil Development Co. Nigeria,
Introcean Oil Exploration Co. Nigeria, Danjuma, Mr. John Brunner, Mr. J.B.
Eruhero, Mr. H.C. Rooks and CAC.
