Embrace peace, Uzor pleads with Nigerians By Gbenga Abiodun State House, Abuja The governorship candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP) in Anambra State in the last general elections, Dr. Obinna Uzoh, has called on all Nigerians to embrace peace as the only option if the country must move forward. He directed his peace message particularly to the people of Plateau State currently being ruled under a state of emergency by Major General Chris Alli (rtd) as he advised the people to translate the emergency rule to positive advantage. Uzor added that Plateau people should not lose the opportunity of the state of emergency currently holding in the state, to achieve total reconciliation amongst the warring groups. He further pointed out that all Nigerians should see one another as brothers and sisters whom God has destined to put together in one country for the ultimate purpose of mutual benefits. The business mogul cum politician, who has returned to the fold of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after losing out in the race to occupy the Awka Government House, also reminded all Nigerians of the potential greatness of the country, adding that “Nigeria would be one of the greatest countries on earth if only we could resolve to live harmoniously among ourselves”. The chairman of Gocuz business empire specifically appealed to the indigenes of Yelwa, Shendam who have been at war in Plateau State as well as in other flash points in the country to learn to tolerate one another, saying, “there is strength in unity”. Uzoh pointed out that it was not for nothing that the United States of America has adopted a policy of admitting citizens of other countries to take up American citizenship.       Copyright� 2002.
