Amstel Malta wears new look
By Dele Alao
Business Reporter, Lagos
Apparently to conform with its international status and
accord the brand its premium right of place in the malt drink market, Amstel
Malta, one of the
Nigerian Breweries Plc’s successful brands in the market, is wearing a
new look.
The new look involves repackaging of the product, new labels, corks and crates.
At a colourful re-launch ceremony of the brand held
at the Lagoon Restaurant, Lagos, the firm’s Public Relations Adviser, Mr.
Larry Agose, took the audience down the memory lane. According to him, “
in the early 90s, health and nutritional issues were key to Nigerians and
shades of malt drinks were introduced into the market to satisfy the hunger for
nourishment. Along with this hunger came the need to have a distinct,
differentiated and premium malt drink for the discerning consumer, who
cherishes all round wellbeing. Then in 1994, Amstel Malta made a grand entry into the
Nigerian market”.
Agose described Amstel as a drink with international
pedigree from the Amstel House of Quality, enriched with vitamins and minerals
and that it came with a special low sugar formulation that gives the consumers
full access to the pure nourishment.
“Amstel Malta distinguishes the consumer from the
crowd, gives you the freedom to be yourself. No wonder it keeps you active,
attractive and admirable and it’s available to all consumers”,
Agose stated.
He added: “Amstel Malta has come to change the face of the
malt market in Nigeria. In a few years, the brand has become the symbol of
admiration, a mark of a confidence, an exponent of healthy living and every
bottle of Amstel Malta is an embodiment of general physical wellbeing”.
Meanwhile, Amstel Malta Brand Manager, Vincent Oparaeke,
has stated that the shortage of the brand in the market has now become a thing
of the past with the re-launch, as it will now be available everywhere.
