Find Ige's Killers, AD Tells Obasanjo By Joseph Ushigiale Alliance for Democracy (AD) has enjoined President Olusegun Obasanjo to direct all relevant security agencies to ensure that killers of the late Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Chief Bola Ige are found and prosecuted. In a statement signed by its national director of publicity, Dayo Adeyeye, the AD said "the President must note that the Bola Ige murder case will remain a black spot on the record of his administration, unless the killers are brought to justice." The AD which said it would not allow the matter to be swept under the carpet like other similar cases in the country, noted that "if the will and the commitment is there, we believe that this murder case will be resolved." On the recent judgement delivered by a High Court in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, which discharged and acquitted Senator Iyiola Omisore who was standing trial before it for his alleged complicity in the murder, AD said "we respect the judgement of the court and our faith and confidence in the judiciary remains unshaken." The party however noted that "while we accept the judgement, we reiterate once again that justice is yet to be done to Chief Bola Ige, his family and the nation. Until Ige's killers are found and brought to book, the ghost of this sordid affair will continue to haunt the nation." An Ibadan High Court presided over by Justice Akin Sanda, had on June 25 discharged and acquitted Omisore on a two-count charge of conspiracy and murder proffered against him. The judge also blamed the police for what he described as shoddy investigations of the matter.
