Group Rises in Defence of NDDC Rivers By Lola Adewoyin A youth group, South-south Youth Patriotic Movement has risen in defence of the Niger-Delta Development Comm -ission (NDDC), condeming those it called "faceless persons writing petition against the commission and blackmailing personalities in the Niger-Delta". In a release signed by Comrade Chinagorom Nwokwo, the group said it would not fold its arms and watch faceless human beings discredit the NDDC. Describing the coalition as enemy of the Niger-Delta, the release says "NDDC has done well and we have seen things for ourselves". Pointing out that NDDC is the only interventionist agency that has done well, the group said, "Mr President meant well for the region. It was the cry of the Niger-Delta people that led to the establishment of the NDDC, any body or group of persons who toy with the hope of the Niger-Delta would be vehemently resisted. "We, the youth of Niger Delta are united.No amount of rumour or blackmail will distract our attention from the good works of NDDC. We are appealing to the people of the Niger Delta to show appreciation to NDDC for them to do more because they have done well," it said.
