We Were Robbed in Aba -NPA As management settles outstanding allowances By Ayodeji Fashikun Players and officials of the NPA football club of Lagos yesterday cried blue murder claiming that the two goals registered against them in the ongoing Globacom League against defending champions, Enyimba of Aba were 'robbery'. The players, who spoke with THISDAYSports, said under anonymity that: "Referee Amos Aigbe has become a specialist of Enyimba's home matches. He refereed the home matches of Enyimba against Rangers and Wikki amongst three other matches. Ours is his sixth match for the Aba team this season at home." The players, who are asking for a "thorough investigation" of their claims, added: "We are only being used to sanction some deals. We played so well in Aba and were robbed of two goals all because they (Enyimba) must win at all cost." However, in a telephone chat NPA's Team Manager, Mr. Mike Idoko, said: "That match is gone. I do not like to make comments on matches gone lest we are distracted from our focus. Let me tell you that we would escape relegation by the special Grace of God." His optimism is informed by the new spirit of the club's management who have paid the boys their outstanding match allowances and salaries. "They have also promised they should await their surprise package if only they will swim out of relegation waters."
