Unilever Appoints Initiative Lagos as Media Buyer Unilever Nigeria Plc., has appointed Initiative Lagos as its new media buying outfit commencing from July 1, 2004. Initiative Lagos the recently floated media independent arm of Lowe Lintas is a global media independent with offices in lot of countries. Based on this development, Unilever will no longer buy media itself, but through Initiative Lagos that will implement approved plan and proposal by raising Media Purchase Order (MPO) on behalf of Unilever Plc. According to Unilever's Mrs. Iffy Kagho "suppliers are expected to forward Invoice and evidence of Implementation to Initiative, within one month of transmission . After which verification & confirmation of invoices, using Media Monitoring report will be done by Initiative Lagos within 2 weeks of receipt of invoice. Mrs. Kagho further said , Unilever then processes & pays Initiative Lagos within 40 days of receipt of certified invoices from Initiative Lagos, after which these monies are expeced to get to Media owner within five working days of Unilever's transferring of funds to Initiative.
