Accenture Ranked 9th in Top 100 IT Companies Accenture has climbed an impressive 27 places to rank 9th in this year's BusinessWeek Info Tech 100 list. This marks the second consecutive year Accenture has made the list. Accenture's ranking, which puts it ahead of IBM in 10th place, is attributed to the company's significant growth in the outsourcing market. Accenture also is ranked in another list as the second most profitable IT company, behind MediaTek. Accenture has climbed an impressive 27 places to rank 9th in this year's BusinessWeek Info Tech 100 list. This marks the second consecutive year Accenture has made the list. The annual listing, now in its seventh year, is compiled using financial data on 10,000 publicly traded companies, provided by Standard & Poor. Companies are divided into eight industry categories, and are measured according to four criteria: revenue growth, shareholder return, return on equity (given equal weight) and total revenues (given 1.5 times the weight of the other three criteria). Korean home-appliances company LG Electronics topped the listing, knocking last year's winner Nextel down to number five. Other companies that made the list include Dell (6), Samsung Electronics (11), Motorola (29), eBay (44) and Microsoft (49). Accenture's ranking, which puts it ahead of IBM in 10th place, is attributed to the company's significant growth in the outsourcing market.
