Citn Holds Port Harcourt Mptp on Wednesday
The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN) will on Wednesday hold its Mandatory Professional Training Programme (MPTP) at the Integrated Cultural Centre in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. The programme is amongst sundry other developmental programmes being organized by the Institute for its members as part of its sustained efforts to enhance their knowledge on contemporary taxation and other fiscal policy issues.
According to a release signed by the Institute's Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr. Tola Akinmutimi, seasoned tax experts and intellectuals, including Barrister Theophilus.I. Emuwa, FCTI, a Partner in Anga & Emuwa & Co. Legal Practitioners and Mr. Cyril Umeh, Corporate Fraud Examiners, West Africa, Lagos, are expected to speak at the forum.
Topics for discussion at the two-day training event in which the President of the Institute, Mr. Emmanuel Osemene, FCTI; will deliver the keynote address include:
Professional Ethics for Tax Practitioners; Deploying Information & Communication Technology in Restructuring Tax Administration in Nigeria; and Case Study on Capital Allowance.
Speaking on the programme, Chairman of the Institute's Education Committee, Alhaji Kamarudeen Adigun, explained that the Port Harcourt MPTP would avail members a unique opportunity to elaborately discuss topical issues and enable them to share experiences on the subjects which, he said, were chosen in view of their contemporary relevance to taxation practice and administration.
His words: "We are assuring members of the immensebenefitsofparticipatinginthe programme. Already, the Institute has made adequate preparation to ensure the programme is rich in content and that paper presenters' resourcefulness meets our members' expectations. We are therefore recommending the programme to stakeholders who are interested in enhancing their knowledge on taxation and fiscal policy issues ", Adigun said.
