Anambra: Electoral Officer Rejects Result From Charles Onyekamuo in Awka Presiding Officer for Nteje Ward II in the repeat April 16, 2003 National Assembly elections in Oyi local government area of Anambra State, Mr Ignatius Aghadiuno yesterday at the Garba Nabaruma chaired National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Awka rejected the result (exhibit F106) which INEC declared in favour of Hon. Celestine Ughanze as the winner of the Oyi Federal Constituency election. Aghadiuno denied writing the result that purpotedly emanated from the polling booth he presided over during the election. Aghadiuno was giving evidence in the petition number EPT/AN/NA/34/03 brought before it by the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) candidate in the said election, Mr Patrick Amuzie against the declaration of Hon. Ughanze currently sitting in the House of Representatives. But Aghadiuno who was led in evidence by Amuzie's counsel, Mr Peter Afuba said the result didn't emanate from the booth presided over by him and that at the end of the election, he was not allowed to accompany the collated result to the INEC office at Nteje, the headquarters of Oyi local government area.
