Deposed NCWS President Fights Back

Crises rocking the National Council for Women Societies (NCWS) in Kwara State has deepened as the ousted leader of the societies in the state, Hajia Fatimah Audu, has fought back to challenge her deposition.
The societies through one of her Vice Presidents, Hajia Amope Edun, had on June 24 at a press conference announced Audu's removal as the president because of her high-handedness, autocratic tendencies, arrogance and poor human relation.
Audu has however fought back, describing her removal as malicious, baseless, tendentious and a calculated vendetta to tarnish her good name.
She blamed her removal on Edun and the secretary of the societies, Dr. Felicia Ojaleige both of who she described as rebels.
In a manner suggestive of factionalisation, Audu in a statement she signed along with one Mrs. Funsho Adeboye and another Moji Olawafe as Public relation Officer (PRO), the embattled president announced the expulsion of the duo from the association in order to bring the desired peace and unity.
She maintained that a bye-election has been held to fill the position of the duo with Hajia Nimota Ibrahim as the new Vice President and Mrs. Funsho Adeboye as the new Secretary of the association.
She alleged that the expelled duo wanted to perpetrate themselves in office, having tasted executive position of the association more than twice.
The group debunked that Audu was not imposed on the association by the Alhaji Muhammadu Lawal administration as claimed by the Edun faction.
The group said "that Hajia Fatima Audu was legally and constitutionally elected supervised by the national members of the association".
The Audu faction described the duo of Edun and Ojeleiye as "spent forces who have nothing to offer than lust for money, power and onarginalisation of youths"
The group called on the Ministry of Women Affairs to pay the association dues henceforth to the banks rather than paying it to the duo of Edun and Ojeleiye.
