Saraki supports Increased State Allocation Kwara State Governor, Dr Bukola Saraki, yesterday threw his weight behind the allocation of a larger share of national revenue to the states. Receiving a member of the Revenue Mobilization, Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), Dr Farouk AbdulAzeez in his office, Saraki challenged the commission to produce a new sharing formula that will give more funds to the states "The challenge before the commission is to evolve a new revenue allocation formula that is equitable and responsive to the needs of the majority of Nigerians", the governor said. Meanwhile, the governor wants Nigerian banks to finance the state's agricultural scheme and provide credit for Zimbabwean Farmers relocating to the state. Saraki, receiving the management team of Intercontinental Bank led by its managing director, Mr. Erastus Akingbola, urged the bank to grant micro-credit facilities to both small and medium scale enterprises. The state, Saraki said, being a predominantly civil service state, has limited resources devoted largely to recurrent expenses with little left for physical development. He however, sought private sectors collaboration with government in order to move the state forward.
