Three new computer software systems for pension fund industry have been introduced to the nation's capital market.
Introducing the new software systems to market operators recently, the Chief Executive of Investment Asset Finance and Management Limited, S. O. Ibitoye explained that three new computer software systems will provide a complete and comprehensive tool for the administration and management of pension schemes.
The software systems include Pension Administration System Software, FastData/Asset Portfolio Manager 1.0 and Managed Funds System Software.
Ibitoye further explained that the products are the results of the cooperation of seasoned Nigerian Accountants and computer professionals and has taken over eight years of meticulous research, design, development and test marketing to arrive at this stage.
"It is an auspicious stage defined by the emerging user need for pension administration software and our readiness to meet this need. Tl_is is the cutting edge," he said.
Besides, he added that the backbone of any pension scheme is the underlying investment assets and the key to the success of the scheme's funding plan is the rate of return on these investments the scheme achieves in the long run.
"The Pension Administration system software interfaces with the FastData/Asset Portfolio Manager to monitor and control the scheme investments at the summary level. The interface is seamless and hassle free. The software is useful for both public and private sector pension and provident fund schemes," Ibitoye explained.
The Investment Portfolio Management Software, he said, is designed for professional management of investment portfolio assets, especially the usually massive and varied assets of pension schemes, while Managed Funds System Software is designed to support unitised personal pension plans (PPP), unallocated Individual Retirement Account (IRA) scheme and all other unitised collective investment plans.
