FG committed to health sector reform, says minister

The Federal Government is committed to the
implementation of the comprehensive health sector reforms with the sum of N26
billion budgeted for the sector this year.
The Minister of Health, Professor Ayitawo
Lambo, who disclosed this on Tuesday at the celebration marking the four-year
existence of the Federal Medical Health Centre, Birnin Kudu, Jigawa State, said
the Federal Government would provide all the necessary equipment needed and
complete all ongoing projects at the centre.
The minister, who spoke through his
Permanent Secretary, Alhaji Umaru Aji, assured the Medical Director of the
centre, Dr. Bashir, of continued government assistance, adding that both the
director and his board were hard working, dedicated, committed, patriotic and
have high sense of responsibility.
He said the Federal Government lunched the
AIB programme in all its 25 health centres nationwide and promised to
designated the Birnin-Kudo centre
as one of those to benefit from the ARB drugs for HIV/AIDS patience.
