In an interview with The Guardian in Makurdi, Benue State capital, Dzeremo stated that ALGON was uncomfortable with the non-specification of the roles of council chairmen in the constitution. The ALGON president stated that his administration would work hard to improve the image of council chairmen, adding that the grassroots leaders are committed to the development of the people. He said that in the next few months, he will sensitise his colleagues on the need to continue delivering democracy dividends to the rural dwellers. Dzeremo argued that his administration would adopt dialogue in its approach to achieving desired goals for the third-tier of government. He decried the situation where leaders of associations use their organisations as instruments to unnecessarily confront the Federal Government.
