Chairman of the Royal Health Maintenance Services Limited (RHMS), Dr. Emma Umez-Eronini, made the call at symposium in Owerri, Imo State on Tuesday. Umez-Eronini, who was the chairman of the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital Enugu in 1987, noted that the former Minister of Health, the late Prof. Olukoye Ransome Kuti, set up a committee which gave birth to the health insurance scheme. The monarch of Ubomiri autonomous community in Imo State, said the 15 per cent earmarked from the basic salaries of all cadres of civil servants in the country had enormous benefits. He advised that the 17 bankers registered by the NHIS for the execution of the scheme should properly do their job without any fraud.
