Alli consoles family of killed poly student
From Isa Abdusalami, Jos

PLATEAU State Administrator, Maj.-Gen. Chris Alli (rtd), has led a delegation to console the family of late Philip Malachy, a Higher National Diploma Student of Plateau State Polytechnic who was killed by the administrator's convoy last Friday.

The accident, which occurred in front of the institution, led to the students going on rampage, barricading all sides of the dual carriage road.

The late student, who ran into the administrator's convoy was knocked down. The administrator stopped on noticing that his convoy has knocked down a student and ordered that the student be taken to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.

Alli, who was accompanied on the visit by the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and other government officials, described the incident as unfortunate.

He expressed shock over the death of Philip, saying the incident was painful.

Alli prayed that God should give the family the strength to bear the loss.

The elder brother of the deceased, Jimba Malachy, who responded on behalf of the family, expressed appreciation of the family saying that they were encouraged and strengthened by the visit.

He said death is inevitable, the demise of his brother is God's will.
