Tapgun who was one of the facilitators of the visit by the ‘stakeholders forum’ made the clarification in a chat with newsmen Wednesday that the team only went to thank President Obasanjo for the relative peace that returned to the state as a result of a state of emergency.”It is not true that we called for the extension of the state of emergency; that would amount to jumping the gun. What we are concerned about now is to ensure that the peace that has started to return is improved upon until full normalcy returns. We did not say anything about extension of the emergency” he declared.He said all they did apart from thanking Mr. President, was to plead with him to give further assistance to the Administrator, General Chris Alli whom he said has been doing a good job, to enable him consolidate on what has been achieved so far.
