Cultism: Odili Threatens Security Operatives From Okon Bassey in Port Harcourt Rivers State Governor, Dr Peter Odili has threatened to call for mass deployment of the police and security agencies in the state if all wanted cultists in the state are not fished out. "The police and security agencies should fish out all wanted cultists, or be ready for redeployment," Odili declared at a 3-day retreat for top functionaries of government inthe state. "If the law enforcement agencies cannot do their work, we will call for their change and let new and neutral people come and do what security agencies are supposed to do in our state," the governor maintained. He reminded security agencies in the state that "all those who have been declared wanted remains wanted," and added "enoughis enough. How can rascality and gangsterism become the way of life." The governor also emphasised that for government officials who will be found to be encouraging cultism and acquisition of illegal arms, mere confession will not exonerate them. "Not only have you failed, but you have directly destroyed innocent lives and misled innocent young people," Odili told any government officials like to cult activities in the state.
