Fayose Accuses LG Chairman of Sponsoring Protest Ekiti From Dipo Okunmuyide in Ado Ekiti Ekiti State governor, Mr Ayo Fayose has accused the Chairman of Ado-Ekiti local government, Mr. Taye Fasuba of sponsoring some councillors to embark on protests which can lead to a break down of law and order. Mobile policemen were yesterday drafted to Ekiti State House of Assembly to curtail the anticipated protest of councillors over an alleged bill that will empower the government to reduce their salaries. Addressing journalists in his office yesterday, Fayose said the chairman of Ado-Ekiti local government has been at loggerheads with him over the decision of the state government to withhold his allocation over non compliance with regulations guiding the spending of local government funds. Fayose explained that government took the decision to withhold the June allocation of Ado-Ekiti local government due to the failure of the chairman to submit the budget of his expenditure as directed by the government. The governor who said he has nothing personal against Fasuba equally accused the council chairman of blocking the initiative of the government to rebuild the Okesa market which was burnt down when a kerosene tanker exploded last month.
