'Duke's Tourism Thrust, Challenge to C/Riverians' C/River By Joseph Ushigiale Huge capital investment which led to the transformation of the tourism sector in Cross River State has been described as one of the greatest challenges the Duke administration has posed before the people of the state. Dropping the hint at Bebi airstrip in Obanliku Council Area, Senator Musa Adede said "I am impressed by the investment Duke has brought to the Ranch. It would be the first time since the Ranch's establishment in 1956, that an investment of such magnitude is being brought here." According to Adede, "the political will, vision and foresight employed by the governor to reposition the Ranch located in the Northern senatorial zone is commendable." Adede said apart from the Ranch investment, "I was also at the ground breaking launch of Tinapa, another tourism masterpiece and must confess that it has underscored what ideas can achieve in the face of meagre resources." He pointed out that "it is encouraging that the Ranch Resort is a four star hotel today, and I am convinced that by the turn of this year, its status would move up to a five star hotel and would be positioned to compete with Sun City in South Africa."
