Govt to Complete Abandoned Lodge Ekiti From Dipo Okunmuyide in Ado-Ekiti Ekiti State Government is making efforts to complete the abandoned presidential lodge before the visit of President Olusegun Obasanjo to the state in November. Governor Ayo Fayose who disclosed this in Ado-Ekiti yesterday said the banquet hall equally abandoned and conversion of the former Fountain Motels to a new governor's office will be completed before the arrival of the president. The presidential lodge was awarded by the administration of Otunba Niyi Adebayo initially at the cost of N32 million but could not be completed by the administration before the expiration of its tenure. Fayose who was speaking during a meeting with top civil servants in his office said his administration has saved about N32 million on monthly bases as a result of a recent staff auditing carried out. According to him, the staff audit has uncovered the existence of ghost workers in the state's civil service, especially in the Health Management Board (HMB) where a lot of sharp practices were equally uncovered among the Accountants, Paymasters and Administrative Staff. On the efforts to improve electricity supply in the state, the governor said there is cooperation between him and the minister of state for power and steel, Professor Babalola Borishade, saying efforts were being made to tap energy from Ilesa in Osun State to Ekiti State.
