Misinformation Sparked Off Wabara's Impeachment Plot -Aide
From Charles Onyekamuo in Awka

Special Adviser to the Senate President on Special Duties, Prince Obinna Okwuaka has said the recent move by about 80 Senators to get the Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara removed from office for alleged misappropriation of funds was a product of misinformation.

He said Wabara, had strived to stabilise the Senate, adding that most of the Senators have come to understand the issues at stake especially with the complete harmonisation that is achieved, based on the relationship between the Senate President and his colleagues which is now cordial and flourishing.

"I can rightly tell you now without mixing words that the so called crisis has ended and the Senate has emerged stronger than before. All former actions were premised on misinformation. They have understand the issues at stake. There is complete harmonisation and the relationship between the Senate President and Senators is at all time cordial," he said .

He hinged the relative peace prevalent in the Senate to Wabara's administrative competence and political wizardry, stating that the same misinformation, which pitched his boss against other senators was related to the earlier impression which tended to misrepresent the Senate President's strength of character.

"People thought he (Wabara) was a stooge; but he is not. The Senate has now come closer than ever before," he said; adding, "the Senate is now a family, they have put the crisis behind them and are moving forward, Okwuaka maintained."

Okwuaka regretted that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the South-east was bedevilled with crisis; but expressed the hope that through the efforts of the national office of the party and stakeholders in the South-east zone, the problems would soon be resolved.
