Coca-Cola FA Cup: Defending Champions, Lobi, Out! By Ayodeji Fashikun Coca-Cola FA Cup defending champions, Lobi Stars of Makurdi yesterday at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos lost their crown as they fell to Dolphin FC of Port-Harcourt in a match that lived up to the billing before a capacity crowd. Albert Chinwe scored the first goal for the winners when he registered his name on the scorers' chart in the 36th minute. The goal forced the cup holders to lay siege on the Rivers team in an effort to level scores before half time. However, two minutes into the second half Olawale Isiaka got the equaliser. There after the game fluctuated between the two teams as they battled hard to take the initiative. When it appeared that the match was heading for extra time Efosa Eguavoen popped up to break Lobi hearts with a 90th minute goal scored from a well-rehearsed free kick sequence, which caught their opponents completely off guard. Lobi Stars players broke down and wept uncontrollably at the sound of the referee's whistle having played so well and yet losing to an equally good side in Dolphin. Winning coach, Abdullahi Musa said: "The match could have gone either way. We had a good outing in a worthy opponent but that is football for you."
