Ondo, Lagos Schools Grab Final Milo Tickets BasketBall By Pius Ayinor Ondo State representatives in the Nestle Milo Secondary Schools Basketball competition, United CAC High School, Akure and the United Christian Secondary School, Apapa, who represented Lagos State in the event, picked the last tickets as conference champions get set for the 2004 national finals. The teams qualified from the male and female categories respectively. In the final game played in Akure, CAC High School defeated St. Mark's Commercial High School, Osogbo 37-15 while United Christian beat Yejide Girls Grammar School, Ibadan who represented Oyo State. Ahead of the Western Conference finals in Akure, two schools had qualified from Asaba where the Atlantic Conference finals held. For the boys' event, Tedok Comprehensive College, Warri picked the ticket after defeating Creative Minds Foundation School, Onitsha, Anambra State 50-15. The female event took a new turn as Luminary School, Warri qualified as against the all time champions, Nana College also from Warri. These schools will be in Lagos by October to Science Secondary School, Kufena, Kaduna, Army Day School, Bukabu, kano (Savannah Conference); Government Comprehensive Secondary School, Bauchi and Government Girls Secondary School, Kasin-Madaki (Sahara Conference) and Modelak Science School, Ilorin and Queen of the Rosary Secondary School, Gboko, Benue State (Central Conference). The other schools are Government Secondary School, Owerri, Jephthan Comprehensive Secondary School, Port Harcourt who will fly the Equatorial Conference flag. The Nestle Milo competition, which is open to all secondary schools in Nigeria, is playing in its 6th edition.
