Following the International Court of Justice (ICJ) verdict which ceded the peninsula to Cameroun, Nigeria has gradually been pulling out the area ahead of the September when the government is scheduled to hand over the territory to Cameroun. Last week, Defence Minister, Alhaji Rabiu Kwankwaso, visited the area and maintained that the country was working towards meeting the September 15 deadline for the final handover of the Peninsula.
