Atiku Commends Private Sector From Josephine Lohor in Abuja Vice President Atiku Abu-bakar yesterday declared that the private sector had become more effective and was thus complementing efforts of the Federal Government. He said "the effectiveness of the private sector is gradually being felt in the polity and it is obvious that the sector is more efficient in the area of service delivery. All these compliment government efforts." Speaking yesterday when a delegation of the British American Tobacco Nigeria Foundation (BATN) paid him a courtesy call at the State House, the Vice President stated that the Federal Government would continue to encourage the participation of the private sector in poverty alleviation, rural development, employment generation and environmental protection.
