Akwa Ibom Gets N504m Mortgage Loan Lagos By Bennett Oghifo Union Homes, a mortgage institution, has approved N504 mllion loan for the Akwa-Ibom State Property and Investment Company (APICO), just as the state government embraced Union Homes pension-linked mortgage scheme with an initial deposit of N250 million naira. Mr. Uche Onyeabo of Union Homes said the facility to APICO is for the completion of infrastructures at its APICO\Shelter Afrique Estate located at Mbiaobong Etoi in Uyo Local Government, Uyo. The Union Homes pension-linked mortgage scheme deposit, Onyeabo added that, is projected to serve as an access fund for the facility so as to reduce the interest rate payable and deliver the houses at affordable prices to their prospective owners. "Union Homes pension-linked mortgage scheme is a product that can asist pensionable workers in private and public sector to utilise their pension scheme to build, purchase, or renovate houses, while in service and still get their full working benefit and retirement. The scheme is targeted at government establishment and private sectors that place top priority interest in the welfare of their serving workers," he noted.
