NDDC Lauded on Infrastructure Provision Rivers By 'Lola Adewoyin Chairman of Rivers State Chapter of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Dr Alice Ajeh, has applauded efforts of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) for providing social infrastructures that impact on the lives of the ordinary people in the Niger Delta region. Ajeh, who led a delegation of NIPR executives to NDDC, said the Institute has been following with keen interest, remarkable impact and giant strides NDDC has made and given the right atmosphere to operate, the commission stands the chance of turning the Niger Delta region into a haven for investment and will restore the dignity and pride of the people in the Niger Delta. She said NIPR decided to visit NDDC to share and tap from its experience in partnership with donor agencies, the private sector and most especially, government, in carrying out NDDC's mandate in the region. Ajeh said Rivers State chapter of the NIPR would assist NDDC in providing Public Relations Training for newly recruited NDDC front office staff, who are the first contact with NDDC's various publics, and equip them with the necessary PR skills to build their capacity in managing the front office. She announced the nomination of NDDC as the host organisation to spotlight at the Rivers State Chapter stand, in the forthcoming National Confe-rence/Annual General Meeting of the Institute scheduled for between August 4 and 6 in Awka, Anambra State.
