NBA Presidential Aspirant Rolls Out Plan KWARA From Tunde Sanni in Ilorin Nigeran Bar Association (NBA) Presidential Aspi-rant in the August Delegates Conference, Chief Bayo Ojo (SAN), has promised to open up employment opportunities for lawyers if elected into office. Ojo, in a chat with newsmen in Ilorin promised to use his office to ensure that each local government councils in the country employs a legal adviser. He said most Nigerian lawyers are under-engaged, and as such his administration would explore means of creating fresh employment avenues for lawyers. He also promised to introduce car loan scheme for all young lawyers within 90 days of his inauguration. He said the loan scheme would be guaranteed by the association adding that one of the leading banks in the country has agreed to take up the scheme. Ojo also spoke of an endowment fund to be contributed by senior members of the association would be used to assist disabled and incapacitated lawyers. According to him, the found would be the first line of succour for any lawyer in distress occasioned by occupational hazard, before the gains of the Health Insurance Scheme is worked out. He said the council has handled 60,000 cases since inception in 1976 and paucity of funds is inhibiting the council's activities.
