Group Begins Campaign for Reproductive Healthbauchi Bauchi From Segun Awofadeji Mayaka Health and Education Mobilisation Agency (MAHEMA) multi-purpose organisation, in conjunction with Vision Projects, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) involved in reproductive healths has embarked on public mobilisation to encourage men to become more involved in reproductive health matters. Secretary-General of the organisation, Mallam Rilwanu Maidawa, during a press briefing at the NUJ Press Centre, Bauchi, yesterday said the NGO was evolving measures aimed at sensitising male for quality reproductive health services. According to him, 'MAHEMA focuses on community level advocacy and capacity building activities in the five vision projects. Local government areas in the states using training workshops for male motivators, sensitisation seminars for male religious and traditional leaders and community meetings with local males geared towards generating demand and advocating male support for quality reproductive health services''. Maidawa said the campaign is necessary to enh-ance individual knowledge of reproductive health services and increase approval of family planning. He said the NGO was aware of likely objection towards the crusade by some individuals and orgarnisations, but said there was great benefit in having a well planned family as it will discourage juvenile delinquency and inculcate good moral values.
