Council Repositions Community for Development kogi From Yinka Kolawole in Lokoja Chairman Ogori/ Mago-ngo Local Government Area of Kogi State, Hon. Mathew Keyi, yesterday in Lokoja said he would intensify efforts at repositioning the Ogori/Magongo communities for better socio-economic development. Speaking with THISDAY, Keyi said his focus for the two communities is to move towards urban development. He said his council would witness improved commerce and industrial development to increase the level of commerce and industry in the area. On poverty alleviation, Keyi said "a responsible government should be able to address the socio-economic development of its people." He remarked that to reduce the level of poverty, employment opportunity would be given priorities. He also said agriculture would be encouraged as a measure to reduce poverty and to make the people of the area self reliant. On empowerment programme for youth, Keyi noted that youth would equally be geared up to set up their own farms in an effort, to make them relevant both socially and economically.
