Delta, Edo Communities Thrown into Darkness Delta From Onwuka Nzeshi in Warri Eight local government councils spread across Delta and Edo states have been thrown into darkness following the breakdown of one of the strategic units at the Delta power station, Ughelli. Areas affected include: Ughelli - North, Ughelli - South, Isoko - North, Isoko - South, Ethiope - East, Ethiope - West and Udu local government councils all in Delta State. The blackout is also extended to parts of Orhiowhon local government area of Edo State. THIS DAY checks revealed that the power failure followed the breakdown of the strategic unit of the National Electric Power Authority (NEPA) at its transmission switchyard at the power station. Public Affairs Manager for Warri District of the authority, Mr. Emmanuel Ibude said the fault occurred at the weekend, but gave assurance that NEPA engineers were working round the clock to rectify the fault.
