Ex-Jigawa Guber Aspirant Decamps to PDP From Bala Nasir in Dutse Former Jigawa State Governor, Alhaji Ali Sa'adu Birnin-Kudu has decamped from the National Democratic Party (NDP) to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). Sa'adu, who was a gubernatorial candidate of the party during the 2003 election, said he was decamping to PDP based on his resolve to save the state from the high handed tendencies of the Governor Saminu Turaki, led administration. Sa'adu, who vowed not to be in the same party with former Foreign Affairs minister, Alhaji Sule Lamido alleged that the two persons are responsible for the unfortunate situation which the state has found itself in. Chairman of PDP in the state, Alhaji Alto Roni confirmed Sa'adu's entrance in to the party together with former chairman of the state Primary Education Board, Alhaji Dabuwa Kirikasamma. He said, the National Chairman of the party, Mr. Audu Ogbeh along with other top officials of the party will be in Dutse soon to formally welcome the two personalities into the party. Meanwhile, in a letter written to the chairman of the Jigawa State Independent Electorial Commission (JISEC)and made available to THISDAY, the chairman of NDP, Garba Halilu said, the party has withdrawn from the August 9 local government election in the state. Though no reason for the withdrawal from the election was stated in the letter, THISDAY gathered that, the withdrawal may not be unconnected with the funds which are alleged to have been given to participating parties as contributions from the state's government, which the party had.
