Group Extols Adamu's Leadership Virtues By Sheriff Balogun Nasarawa State governor, Alhaji Abdullahi Adamu has been, commended for the religious tolerance and harmony existing between Christians and Muslims in the State. According to a Press Release by Adamu's Senior Special Assistant (Media), Victoria N. Ikeano, the commendation was given by the Women Fellowship of the Evangelical Reformed Church of Christ (ERCC), during a visit to the governor in Lafia. The delegation's leader, Mrs. Paulina Akyala, praised Adamu for the "freedom of worship in Nasarawa State" and also for his untiring efforts in maintaining peaceful "co-existence between Christians, Muslims and everybody in the State." The ERCC gave kudos to Adamu for appointing women into key government positions and for the concern and love he is extending to refugees from neighbouring Plateau State. There are four female commissioners, one fem,aK'special adviser, two female senior special assistants and other female permanent secretaries, heads of parastatals, directors, serving in Nasarawa State. The state is also accommodating some 25,000 refugees. Describing Adamu as"God sent", the, church pledged its support for his administration. Responding, Adamu harped on the need for good neighbourliness, peaceful co-existence and love among all peoples and faiths, noting that love is a fundamental doctrine of all religions. stressing that nothing should be done to threaten the corporate existence of Nigeria, the governor called on Nigerians to unite as one people with one destiny.
