Anenih Withdraws Suit Against Kalu From Lillian Okenwa in Abuja The disagreement between the Acting Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Board of Trustees, Chief Tony Anenih and Abia State Governor, Orji Uzor has been resolved at last as Anenih finally withdrew the libel suit he instituted against Governor Kalu, the Sun Publishing Limited and its editors. Kalu had earlier apologised to Anenih following a reconciliation meeting at the instance of the Oba of Benin on June 23 in Benin City. A notice of discontinance filed on behalf of Anenih at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on July 7, by the chambers of Prince Adetokunbo Kayode (SAN) said: "In view of the appology rendered to the plaintiff by the 1st defendant (Kalu) for himself and on behalf of all the defendants (The Sun Publishing Limited and its Senior Editors), certified copies of which are attached hereto, the plaintiff herein hereby discontinues the action against the defendants." Also attached to the notice is a certified true copy of the communiqu� issued at the end of the peace meeting on June 23. The communiqu� signed by Kalu, Oba of Benin, Omo N'Oba Erediauwa, Eze Ezo Ukandu, Chairman, Forum of South-East Traditional Rulers and Governor of Edo State, Chief Lucky Igbinedion, said the purpose of the meeting convened by the Benin monarch in consultation with the chairman and members of the Forum of South-East Traditional Rulers was "to make a determined effort to settle the dispute between Chief Anenih and Governor Kalu." It also said the governor having apologised orally to Anenih and agreed to do same in writing, he (Anenih) has accepted the appology and has agreed to withdraw the case from court on receipt of the letter.
